I went looking for a Sensory Deprivation experience, or otherwise known as a Float Tank and I found Kinesiology. What is it and how do I best explain it to you? To tell you the truth, I actually haven't got a clue! I can give you all the technical explanations but until you have fully experienced it for yourself; you will never really know. But let me try anyway…
Rob Williams has been quoted explaining Kinesiology like this: “Rewrite the software of your MIND in order to change the printout of YOUR LIFE.” Why would he describe it like that? Quiet simply we have two minds (guess they weren’t kidding when they say: “I’m in two minds about this …”); one is your conscious mind and the other is your subconscious mind. If we look at the analogy of a smartphone; the conscious mind is the apps and the subconscious are the programmes running the apps in the background. So by rewriting the software (your subconscious) you change the printout of your life (what you see manifest in your world).
Up until the age of seven all we have is a subconscious mind which does not know wrong from right; it doesn’t have to. That is the job of your conscious mind which kicks in around seven. The subconscious accepts EVERYTHING as truth. That is why the Jesuits say: “Give me the boy until he is seven and I will show you the man.”
Neuroscience is confirming for us that how we operate in the world is because of the programming we get from our friends, teachers, parents, grandparents etc. before the age of seven. What is subconscious programming? Let me ask you a different question; when last did you think about how you drive a car? Do you think: “Now I am going to change gears from first to second,” and then do it or do you just change gears and not even think about it anymore. You don’t have to because it has been installed as a subconscious programme.
The very foundation of our personality, our core beliefs are the attitude we use to view the world and ourselves. From these attitudes we develop how we behave in the world and our core beliefs are so ingrained in us that unbeknownst to us they affect our mood, relationships, job performance, self-esteem and even physical health. So, what can we do to change this “programming”, these beliefs so ingrained in our subconscious that most of the time we are unaware of their influence on us, “telling” us what to do in our daily lives?
Dr Bruce Lipton, American Development Biologist, PhD, says there are four simple ways:
1. Hypnosis. The first seven years of your life your brain operates in a low vibrational frequency and downloads what you see. Hypnosis puts you back there.
2. Habituation. This is how we learn after seven. Think back to your ABCs or learning to drive that car from the earlier example.
3. Tremendous Emotional Shock. Something rather extreme happens in your life and after that you are never the same.
4. Belief Change Modalities - KINESIOLOGY, changing a belief system that you have had your whole life in just 10-15 minutes.
Why would you want to change these beliefs? For starters, as we grow our programmes get viruses and so the apps start to malfunction, if we use our smartphone analogy. So, we uninstall and install an updated version. Also, our beliefs served a purpose at one point, but now they have just become the walls that keep you from going out there, living your best life.
In Kinesiology we look at balancing the energy of mind, body and soul and I see myself as a superhero with Kinesiology as my superpower. Using Kinesiology, I talk directly to your subconscious mind and I open the flow to where you find yourself stuck or blocked. Working with energy systems and assisting clients to restore the flow of their own natural energies, maximize their body’s healing opportunities and help them achieve their maximum potential as a human being. It is about looking forward, finding ‘your magic’ and leaving obstacles of the past behind you.
In case you don’t believe me, let me teach you a quick magic trick. Get up off your chair where you are sitting reading this and bend over and touch your toes, go on I know you want to. Measure to see how close you get to them. Now stand up straight and with you right hand over the top of your head, take the top curly part of your left ear and uncurl it to the count of 10. Do the same in the opposite direction, take your left hand over the top of your head, get hold of the curly bit of your right ear and uncurl it to the count of 10.
Bend over and touch your toes. How close did you get this time?
